Sheridan Oaks Stables Equestrian Facility
Sheridan Oaks Stables is owned and operated by NRHA Non-Pro Coach of the Year, horse trainer, NRHA judge and athlete, Dave Moore and his wife, Kim Moore. After marrying in 1981, Dave and Kim moved to South Florida, where they eventually purchased Sheridan Oaks Stable. That was over 20 years ago. Dave started to really emphasize and concentrate on the reining industry. The move paid off as the NRHA emerged as a leader in the horse industry's growth.
Dave Moore - Owner
For over 30 years, Dave Moore has been a part of the horse industry. After graduating from the State University of New York at Morrisville with a degree in Horse Husbandry, Dave went on to work as an apprentice and assistant to Terry Thompson for two years. He won his first Appaloosa World Championship title in 1982. Dave has ridden and coached numerous National and World title holders in equitation, pleasure, western riding and reining. His primary goals and interests are heavily tied to the NRHA. He is currently a carded judge for the ApHC and the NRHA. Dave has the ability to not only prepare the horses but to truly educate his riders.
Kim Moore - Owner
When Kim started showing horses at age 13, she never considered doing anything else. After a successful youth career, including a 2 month riding course in England, Kim went on to receive her Riding Instructors Certificate and a Riding Masters Degree from a well known Horsemanship school. In 1977, she traveled the country as the National Appaloosa Queen and during that year met Dave. Until 2006, Kim specialized in Hunters, started many young riders and horses and produced numerous National Champions. As the reining side of the business grew, she decided to put away the jumps and focus on starting young and beginning riders so they could eventually enter the reining program.
Nikki Tyndall - Associate
Having completed her education at the University of Findlay in Ohio well known for its Western Equestrian programs, Nikki moved to Florida to work for Dave and Kim in 2015.
Nikki has worked for horse trainers throughout her childhood and adult years, developing knowledge, skills and an extraordinary work ethic. Under the guidance of Dave Moore, she has learned all aspects of the reining horse industry.
She gives lessons, coaching both youth and non pro with a true understanding of the challenges that horses and riding present. Nikki is an accomplished rider, winning multiple national titles as a professional show exhibitor. Her achievements are a true testament to the hard work, commitment and dedication that she has to her career.
